The World of Darkness video game universe is making a major comeback. Paradox Interactive has confirmed not one, but two new projects currently in development, with one title set to revive a beloved classic from the early 2000s. The announcement has sparked significant interest among fans of the gothic-punk horror setting, which has been relatively quiet on the gaming front in recent years.
The first project is a brand new entry in the series, though specific details on its setting and gameplay remain under wraps. The second, however, is a direct return to a fan-favorite title that originally launched in 2004. That game, known for its atmospheric storytelling and deep role-playing mechanics, is being resurrected for modern platforms. While the publisher has not yet named the developer or provided a release window, the confirmation alone has been enough to energize the community.
This expansion marks a deliberate effort to revitalize the World of Darkness brand, which includes the popular tabletop games Vampire: The Masquerade and Werewolf: The Apocalypse. The original 2004 title earned a dedicated following for its complex narrative and immersive world, and its return is seen as a nod to longtime fans who have waited years for a proper sequel or remaster. More announcements are expected in the coming months as development progresses.
