The racing game's concurrent player count has dropped to roughly a tenth of its launch peak. Meanwhile, an old favorite, BeamNG.drive, is holding steady and now pulling in nearly the same number of daily players.

BeamNG.drive is not new. It has been around for years, known for its highly detailed soft-body physics. You crash cars, bend frames, and watch parts fly off in ways that feel real. There is no story mode, no flashy career ladder. It is a sandbox. Players build their own fun, often just smashing vehicles or testing mods. And that seems to be exactly what people want right now.

The numbers tell the story. Forza Horizon 6 had a massive debut, but many players finished the main content quickly. Once the novelty wore off, the grind set in. Live service elements, seasonal events, and online requirements pushed some people away. BeamNG offers the opposite. It is a tool, not a service. You can play for five minutes or five hours, and there is always something new to try, especially with the active modding community.

This is not a knock on Forza. It is a polished, beautiful game. But the trend says something about player patience. Big budget releases with constant updates and battle passes are wearing thin. A physics sim with no goals, no timers, and no pressure is becoming the comfort food of PC gaming. For now, BeamNG is winning the slow race, and it does not look like it is slowing down.
