Rockstar Games has officially locked in the release date for the next entry in its blockbuster franchise. Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on November 19th, and preorders for the game open at midnight tonight, local time. Fans can reserve a copy on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X and Series S consoles.
Both digital and physical editions will be available for preorder. However, Rockstar has confirmed that even the physical copies will not include a disc. Instead, those boxes will contain a download code inside the box, meaning the game must be downloaded regardless of the edition chosen. This marks a notable shift for the series, which has historically sold millions of physical discs.
The announcement has generated massive buzz across the gaming community, with many players already planning their midnight orders. Rockstar has not yet revealed pricing for special editions or any bonus content tied to preorders, but more details are expected to surface once the preorder window opens.
With a fall release now set, Grand Theft Auto VI is shaping up to be one of the biggest entertainment launches of the year.
