Video Game Symphony returning to Severance Music Center

Fans of orchestral video game music will get another chance to hear their favorite soundtracks performed live in Cleveland this summer. The Video Game Symphony concert series is scheduled to stop at Severance Music Center on Saturday, Aug. 23, with a 3 p.m. matinee performance in Mandel Concert Hall.

The concert brings together a full symphony orchestra and choir to perform music from a wide range of popular video game franchises. The program typically spans multiple generations of gaming, from classic 8-bit era tunes to more recent blockbuster scores. Attendees can expect to hear music from series like Final Fantasy, The Legend of Zelda, and Super Mario, along with selections from other well-known titles. The show is designed to appeal to both longtime gamers and newcomers, with visuals from the games projected on a large screen above the stage to accompany the live music.

Tickets for the performance are now on sale through the Severance Music Center box office and its official ticketing website. The venue is located at 11001 Euclid Ave. in Cleveland's University Circle neighborhood. Parking is available in nearby lots and garages, and the venue is also accessible via RTA's HealthLine and other bus routes.

This marks the ensemble's return to the hall after a previous sold-out engagement. Organizers say the new date will feature an updated setlist, including some recently released game music that has not been performed live in the city before. The afternoon start time is intended to make the event more family-friendly, allowing younger fans to attend without a late night.
