Stardew Valley, the massively popular farming simulation game created by solo Seattle developer Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone, is making the jump to tabletop card games. The indie hit will be featured in a three-part Secret Lair drop from Renton-based Wizards of the Coast. The collaboration will bring the cozy world of Pelican Town to Magic: The Gathering, and it comes with a special touch: original pixel art drawn by Barone himself.
The Secret Lair series is known for offering themed, limited-edition card sets, and this one will transform key characters and items from Stardew Valley into playable Magic cards. While the full list of cards has not been revealed, the announcement confirms that the pixel art style that made the game a cult classic will be preserved on each card. For fans of both games, this crossover blends the strategic depth of Magic with the laid-back charm of tending a virtual farm.
The drop is expected to release later this year. Wizards of the Coast has not yet announced pricing or exact availability dates, but Secret Lair products often sell out quickly due to their collectible nature.
